Welcome to a safe haven, a place to be you and be yours.

A Place for You and Yours to Be You and Yours

Discover a safe haven where your child, your teen, or you can feel truly heard and understood. Together, we'll navigate the journey towards healing and growth. Step into a space that celebrates every individual's uniqueness and strengths.

Has your child been having big feelings and even bigger behaviors? Is your teen struggling and pulling away? Are you unsure of what you can do at home to help your child? Are you leaving home, starting college, or beginning your adult life and need some support in this process? Reach out and we’ll get started on helping you, your child, or your teen find their way back to their best self.

Every journey calls for its own path. In some journeys we’ll play, some we’ll do art, and in some we’ll use specific techniques informed by other therapy modalities. In all you will be deeply heard and safe.

My Style and Approach

My style is interactive and attuned. I listen for what you, your child, or your teen are needing and use my experience and skills to provide you what you need. My training was grounded in psychodynamic theories with an emphasis on attachment and the importance of the therapeutic relationship. In my work I borrow from a range of therapies: cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions, play therapy, and art based therapy.

Experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker

I have my Master of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work, class of 2011.

I have experience working in a range of settings: community mental health with adults, school based social work, residential treatment center work with children and adolescents, art based therapy with youth in the juvenile department (not as scary as some may think), and supporting kids and teens in a partial hospitalization level of care with a range of challenges (school avoidance, big feelings and big behaviors, suicidal thoughts, self harm).

I’ve been calling Dallas home since 2016, but have lived for short stints in many places: Ohio, Massachusetts, California, New Zealand, and all along I-35 in Texas.

My two dogs have the hearts of therapy dogs, but unfortunately not the behavior to match.

I am part of the LGBTQIA community and have a special love for supporting families, kids, and teens in the community.

  • I am an in-network provider with Cigna, Aetna, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas.

If you have another insurer, you can pay out of pocket and I can provide you with a superbill that you then submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

  • Individual sessions are 45-55 minutes. Assessment sessions tend to be a little longer, about 60 minutes. As far as the number of sessions needed, that will vary based on what is bringing you or your child into treatment. Some treatment issues only need short term therapy, meaning 8-12 sessions. Some treatment issues need longer term treatment. Either way, we will check in along the way about what you or your child are needing and progress towards those goals.

  • Call or email to set up a consultaton call. We’ll talk for 15 minutes or so about what you need and what I offer to make sure we’re a good match.
